Location

At the beginning of my trailer I will use The Douay Martyrs school in order to create a familiar scene and it will also co ordinate with my narrative as my characters are students. The hallways of the school can also be made to look very spooky, especially later at night when it is darker. I would like to create a similar dark eerie feeling that the school in Silent Hill has created. It makes somewhere innocent seem sinister challenging the conventions of what is normal.

I will have to use the library and a classroom during the beginning for the narrative to make sense.

This is Hanwell railway station's arches. I hope to film a section of my trailer here possibly during the evening so that its not to dark to film but dark enough to create the effect that I want. I will use this location when I am filming the antagonist walking home and this might also be where she commits her first murder. The effect created by this tunnel will be that she is trapped in. An audience will already have preconceived ideas about a dark tunnel so this will look immediately sinister.

I could also film at a bridge called Wharncliffe Viaduct which is in Ealing as this will give a similar effect although the archis a bit higher up so will be harder to get the whole thing into the shot but it is also surrounded by greenery, unlike the Hanwell one, which could give me the chance to play around with hiding shots behind plants etc.

Instead of using the arches I couls also use an alleyway as, especially at night, they are considered to be places where bad things happen so will immediately suggest something sinister is going to happen.

I will then have the remaining trailer in my own bedroom during the time she is studying the satanic symbol to create the image that she has a normal life style and is quite comfortable in it.
